Job Description
The Senior Director Sales Operations APJ is responsible for partnering with regional and country LSG/division leadership and support functions to develop and implement a regional sales operations strategy to drive improved sales force productivity. They will have direct involvement in providing leadership and strategic direction to the immediate APJ Sales Operations team and build a collaborative relationship with the country Sales Operations teams to drive efficiencies and provide a regional view of the business. This position will be the primary contact for business leaders seeking information about the APJ region.

Responsible for partnering with the selling organization, division leadership, and the Asia Pacific and Japan commercial leadership team (ACLT) this position will focus on developing and sharing best practices and enterprise wide sales processes and systems, training programs, data reporting, sales tools and communication protocols.

Reporting to the Senior Director Global Sales Operations this position will also be a key member of the ACLT responsible for coordinating and executing on regional/country commercial programs and initiatives. This individual will work cross-functionally with: Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Sales Operations/Pricing, Compensation, IT/CRM within multiple countries and divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure solid alignment between the sales operations team and the needs of the selling organizations.
  • Manage the complexity of the Asia structure to respect the importance of the country but ensure collaboration where possible to drive efficiencies and the appropriate level of regional/global consistency.
  • Provide leadership to the broader sales operations team in supporting the teams goals and initiatives to deliver maximum value to the selling organizations around reporting, analytics, pricing, training, sales efficiencies, tools, CRM management, and process improvement.
  • Streamline the mechanisms for information requests or to rollout communications to provide a single point of contact within the region for others to engage on sales operations related activities.
  • Elevate the training experience by working with the regional training manager and the ACLT to develop a sales training curriculum driving sales capability within the region. This will include identifying, planning, and delivering on the key training needs for the region - on-boarding, skills, methodology, and product training.
  • Ensure the sales teams and leaders can optimize their time selling by providing the systems, information, leads, and tools to ensure they can target and focus on the best opportunities.
  • Continue to drive an atmosphere of proactively providing sales analytics to identify opportunities to sell and improve.
  • Participate as a value-add member of the ACLT providing both tactical and strategic insight on topics affecting the region.
  • Own the development, rollout, execution, and evaluation of regional initiatives identified by the ACLT.
  • Provide a single point of contact to rollout, manage, and consolidate global/regional programs and initiatives.
  • Identify and drive process improvement programs in the region to simplify and streamline otherwise complex processes.
  • Perform other sales operations related functions as required.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications required.
  • Master’s or higher degree preferred
  • A minimum 10 years of management in Sales, Sales Operations, or Compensation Management roles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Asian market.
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior sales executives.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sales operations activities as noted above.
  • Success in leading teams to successfully accomplish complex tasks.
  • Solid analytical and business acumen skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a large and complex organization.
  • Can disseminate information effectively and supply regular updates to key stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently, multi-task, and maintain focus on the goals at hand.
