Job Description
Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Manager, Production Planning plays a key role in the success of the overall Supply Chain process. This position has direct reporting responsibilities for four individuals whose are responsible for planning the daily activities for the entire site, including: all Production Orders, Spares/Service Parts business and inventory management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the San Jose Planning team, consisting of Senior Planners and Planners
  • Plan inventory receipts to meet production requirements ensuring on-time delivery and continuity of supply for production and spares operations.
  • Plan and release Work Orders to meet forecasts and customer order requirements.
  • Drive data accuracy and inventory transaction accuracy to world class levels as required by Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Assign ownership and implement work process to drive accuracy at the BOM, router, inventory, and Item Master levels.
  • Improve material availability through the implementation of a comprehensive replenishment / stocking strategy
  • Optimize the sizing of Planned Order quantities to balance labor and inventory
  • Manage Red Lights with Zero Inventory and Negative Days of Supply; manage Planned Orders with past Release Dates
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain or related field.
  • Strong SAP experience
  • 3+ year’s previous management experience in planning or high-tech operations function.
  • 5+ year’s additional experience in manufacturing or planning with emphasis on costing, mechanical & electronic assembly.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop a strong relationship with functional leadership and operational peers which results in business leverage and synchronization.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing operations, planning, and procurement processes.
  • Proven ability to manage projects to successful and timely conclusions.
  • Full understanding of material planning and scheduling systems.
