Job Description

  • Provide Quality Support to the Value Stream(s) through active involvement in the detection of reoccurring issues, potential corrective actions as well as nonconforming processes relating to design, assembly, materials and testing.
  • Designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
    • Participate in change control activities for documents and manufacturing processes
    • Create, review and revise quality policies and procedures to ensure effectiveness
    • Ensure proper use of quality systems and processes
    • Perform training on Quality procedures
  • Responsible for planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal specifications and external safety, quality and regulatory standards. (i.e. ISO, Six Sigma).
    • Plan, schedule and conduct internal audits and risk assessments
  • Participate in projects from design stages to final release. Partners with development to improve development processes, develops test requirements and protocols and enhances the existing infrastructure to ensure products meet quality and reliability requirements.
  • Analyze non-conformance and other production data to identify and prioritize CAPA opportunities or specification and/or process improvements.
  • Own Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process, facilitate investigations, audit non-conformances, identify root cause and ensure effective corrective actions are documented and implemented.
  • Participate in PPI (Practical Process Improvement) and projects to support achievement of business metrics to drive improvement to the quality of our products and processes
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obeys all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform all job duties consistent with the Thermo Fisher Scientific Code of Ethics and the 4-I values
  • Perform other duties assigned

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering with 7+ years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Quality.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to influence others and lead significant change.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Disciplined problem solving capability: Lean / Six Sigma, etc.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate while maintaining a vision of the end result
  • Work attitude that exhibits drive, creativity, collaboration, assertiveness, good judgment, decision making and ambition.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, Minitab, quality software, and statistical methods (SPC, DOE, Gauge R&R etc.) and risk management techniques (dFMEA/pFMEA).
  • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Implement new programs/processes with little direction
