Division Summary

The Anatomical Pathology Division (APD) provides laboratories with the broadest portfolio of instrument and consumable solutions, from specimen collection and grossing to advanced staining and cover slipping. The Division generates $400MM in annual revenue and has 1,500 employees in 13 countries. The anatomical pathology product line includes Richard Allan Scientific, Erie Scientific, Microm, Shandon, and Lab Vision.

Position Summary

The Part-Time Operator II, Manufacturing (2nd shift) position is responsible for all tasks associated with the operation, inspecting and packaging of finished goods, including but not limited to; performing all required quality checks to include visual inspection of parts for defects (fill levels, packaging, and others); completing production operations work orders accurately to include filling, capping, labeling, packaging, and cleaning. The Operator II, Manufacturing will also be responsible for performing equipment set-up and change over, basic preventative maintenance, cleaning of equipment, work area, and facility while complying with all safety and regulatory requirements.

This part-time position will work (3) days per week, up to nine hours per shift shifts. The position is guaranteed 24 hours per week. This part-time position is not to exceed 1,500 hours per calendar year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in Practical Process Improvement teams
  • Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility
  • Comply with all safety regulations and conduct all activities in a safe, efficient manner
  • Cleans packaging rooms and machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMPs)
  • Provide support to meet department and company objectives
  • Ability to clearly document required information
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures as documented and trained
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures (safety, regulatory, etc.)
  • Specific Job Related Training Required

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to lift, push and/or pull, up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • Must be able to speak, read and write (legibly) in the English language without assistance
  • Must have basic computer skills, to include, but not be limited to: data entry, log in/out, screen and program navigation
  • Must have working mathematical skills for adding, subtraction, multiplication, division
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivated, adaptable and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to clearly document required information
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures as documented and trained
  • Experience with working in chemical manufacturing is preferred
