Location: Germany

  • Serves as a Business Partner to the country commercial team members and acts as the ambassador for Corporate HR initiatives. Works with local country leads to develop the HR strategy that meets short-term priorities whilst focusing on long term business objectives.
  • Lead the German HR organisation as part of the HR Transition towards an aligned, efficient and scalable HR (country) model.
  • Proactively manage the Works Council and Unions at Group Level and drive the overall Works Council strategy across all German sites. Develop and drive an employee relation and employee communication strategy across the country. Establish excellent working relationships with the European Employee Relations Director to ensure complete alignment with the Navigates safely through the legal and compliance environment specific to Germany, possessing an exceptional understanding of applied German employment law with an objective to carefully manage risk and to deliver the strategic business and HR objectives.
  • Networking across Germany and the wider EMEA region to maintain and develop a high performing, engaged HR team across Germany and drive a core, common and consistent approach to best practice in HR that is aligned to the Global HR strategy.
  • Acts as a member of the HR Leadership Team and represent country wide interests at the DACH regional level and ensure that any HR initiatives and programmes within specific locations and business units are aligned with and communicated at the overall Germany and the wider DACH level.
  • Evolve policy, procedure and strategy that take into account the changing dynamics of the business whilst minimising risk. As the organisation continues to grow through mergers and acquisition, drive an approach to integration and harmonisation that is relevant for the long term success of the organisation.
  • Gain commitment and engagement from key stakeholders in order for them to understand and implement the actions that will enable their businesses to achieve its strategic objectives. Minimise risk by meeting any local legal, regulatory or data privacy requirements whilst driving global, regional or divisional programmes.
  • Drive agreement for corporate HR programmes and provide a high level of commercially orientated HR expertise when required. Represented HR at national sales conferences and business meetings
  • Manage and develop direct reports and coach the indirect HR team


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters degree preferred in Human Resources, Economics, Law or equivalent
  • Demonstrable senior leadership experience gained within a complex, multi-site, multi-national environment
  • Evidence of working within a matrix managed environment with proven ability to influence and drive change
  • Expertise in German Labour Law within a co-determined, works council and union influenced environment
  • Senior generalist HR expertise as well as experience in taking the HR function through a transformation
  • Business Partner methodology and experience in a commercial /operational business environment; demonstrable customer-focused approach
  • Demonstrable ability to work with business leaders to define and execute HR strategies that support long term business objectives
  • Proven experience in implementing programs and processes that yield positive results
  • German and English fluency.
  • Exposure to process improvement efforts (e.g. Kaizen, PPI, six sigma, practical process improvement)
  • Multi-country experience
  • Multi-lingual to include English and at least one additional European language

  • Senior level leadership skills, adjusting leadership style to different audiences
  • Expertise in behavioral change and the change process; experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
  • Exceptional listening skills with an emphasis on understanding, empathy and a high affinity to effectively work together with people of many different cultures
  • Excellent and prolific communicator
  • Manage commercially sensitive and highly confidential information with unwavering discretion, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and make decisions to favorably impact the overall business
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex, and rapidly growing/changing work environment; demonstrate organization and prioritization skills
  • Self-motivated with a bias for action and a keen sense of urgency
  • Effective negotiating skills
  • Must possess adequate computer skills in Microsoft 365 Office applications

Travel Requirements:
  • Travel requirements are 25%-50%
