Job Title: Depot Repair Technician
Reports To: Manager – Customer Service and Technical Support
Group/Division: Environmental Process Monitoring/Chemical Analysis Division

Position Location: Winsford, UK

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean, assemble and test exchange products.
  • Inspect and document pre-repair condition of returned instruments to include analytical instrumentation used in ambient measuring stations for air quality monitoring and portable instruments for industrial hygiene.
  • Carry out service, repairs and upgrades as per customer order.
  • Work with CSR to provide customer quotations for service, repair and upgrades of products returned to the factory.
  • Record repair process on SAP.
  • Record and maintain accurate records of all service activities.
  • Provide Technical Support as required by customers and colleagues
  • Record technical faults from end users on Salesforce.
  • Assist in the development of technical material including technical support notes.
  • Establish and maintain lines of communication with engineering and software development on design, reliability and maintenance issues.
  • Assisting in development of training materials and provide training as requested
  • Liaising with other departments – including Operations, Customer Service, & Shipping
  • To perform such duties that may be considered necessary in order to ensure the efficient running of the department to meet key metrics.
  • To understand and operate within Health & Safety regulations and ISO guidelines

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Must be an organized self starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Strong professional communication, follow up and problem solving skills required.
  • The ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and circuit schematics.
  • Ability to fault-find to basic component levels using all test equipment necessary
  • Proven electro-mechanical skills
  • Experience of servicing of analytical instrumentation used in ambient measuring stations for air quality monitoring networks.
  • Knowledge of portable instruments for industrial hygiene.
  • Knowledge of measurement techniques such as: NOx chemiluminescence; SO2 UV fluorescence; O3 UV absorption; CO Infra Red absorption, Hydrocarbons Flame ionization detector.
  • Knowledge of Particulates Beta radiation and light scattering.
  • PC literate with competency in use of Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
  • Experience in lean practices and continuous improvement tools and the ability to lead by example and provide guidance are preferred.
  • Full UK driving license
