Job Description

The Product Quality Manager is tasked with establishing strategies to successfully drive improvement in customer-centric product and process quality including data analysis and related improvements in product reliability, delivery/installation, time-to-repair, and cost of ownership. Will ensure the development, manufacture and distribution of products in compliance with corporate policies, ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
Will interact with and present findings to individuals in varying levels and functions within the business ranging from members of the Business Leadership Team, Division Quality, key functional leaders in the Factory, Product Support, Product Development and Commercial Operations, and individual Engineers and Supervisors in those functional areas.


  • In consultation with management, set and drive improvement goals related to product reliability, delivery/installation quality and other high-priority customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Manage warranty reduction program, analysis and meetings with Quality Mgmt; collaborate with identified SWAT teams ensuring projects complete in a timely manner.
  • Support Mechanical and Electrical Engineering product development QA for documentation, design reviews and vendor specifications.
  • Manage projects and collaborate with other functions in support of improvement goals.
  • Work with other Business Units and functions to ensure Ion Chromatography customer satisfaction goals are met for complete systems, including components, accessories and consumables.
  • Lead or participate in management reviews, quality reviews/reporting, failure analysis and complaint resolution activities as indicated.
  • Ensure products and process remains compliant to relevant regulations and standards including safety, EMC and environmental requirements FDA QSR, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and IVDD.
  • Drive adoption of Quality Tools across the division as appropriate, such as 8D Corrective Action, Error Proofing, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design Validation and Process Validation testing (DVT/PVT), and Critical to Quality (CTQ) documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics is preferred.
  • 5 + years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Engineering desirable
  • 3+ years of experience managing a project portfolio or in program management
  • Familiarity with new product introduction processes desirable
  • Strong analytical skills. With the ability to develop creative solutions and establish consensus.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles, PPI or DMAIC Six Sigma is desirable.
  • Experience creating training and presentation materials and giving effective data driven presentations to influence actions
  • Prior experience in product related roles such as Product management, Manufacturing Engineering, Field Customer Experience or Product Development experience is a plus.
  • Able to travel occasionally (<10%) nationally and internationally.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel or Minitab
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, Sharepoint, etc.
