Job Description

Job Summary:

The Sr. Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for the overall order fulfillment of shipping duties using current regulation guidelines ensuring all these requirements are being met.

This position takes direction from the Shipping Supervisor and the Shipping Manager.

Job Responsibilities:
  • QC all packages (Domestic, International and Trucks)
  • Enter all errors in Bump Logs and send to the shipping manager
  • Review all hazardous bumps which come back to Thermo Fisher Scientific and return to shipper with an explanation for the bump
  • After packages have gone through QC place said packages in the proper locations for pick up
  • Directs truck drivers regarding shipments and inquiries
  • Collect all paperwork at the end of the night (Domestic, International and Trucks), Bill of Ladings, Hazardous Declarations, Commercial Invoices
  • File all paperwork in the proper files
  • Archive these files quarterly and file per record retention policies
  • Count supplies each night for shipping and send an email to Neck Rd and shelly Rd to have supplies brought over each morning
  • Write requisitions and send requisitions over to purchasing when shipping and picking inventory gets low on supplies
  • Assist with the close out reports for Fedex Ground, UPS and DHL
  • Oversee shippers ensuring they are current on knowledge of regulations
  • Assist receivers during busy or down times
  • Continually keep current on regulations regarding limits on chemical packaging assuring the repack department stays within the allowed limits
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical shipping is strongly preferred, but we will conduct on the job training with a proven work record with warehousing, inventory control, or shipping experience
  • Must be able to document records in English and communicate orally and in writing in English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well with people
  • Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in working in a chemical warehouse environment a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • This position will require some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs., heavier weights with assistance). Must be able to work an 8-12 hour shift in a fast paced environment. Must be able to handle chemicals in a safe manner while donning appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Required to wear ASTM F 2413-05 (or ANSI Z41-1999) safety shoes while working in the warehouse.
