Thermo Fisher Scientific's Life Sciences Solutions Group in Carlsbad, California has an immediate opening for a Finance Manager. This is a great opportunity for a well experienced Sr. Financial Analyst looking to take their career to the next level.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the reporting and consolidation of monthly actuals and forecasting of LSG global Facilities, EH&S, and Security spend as well as global Distribution and Logistics spend
  • Support the integration activities of acquisitions and drive standardization in reporting and analysis across the Group
  • Provide analytical trends and monthly reporting by region and spend type
  • Partner with the respective business leaders to identify and drive productivity improvements in the business
  • Provide financial guidance and support for Capital investments which align with business strategy
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities within these functions
  • Support Ad-hoc internal, group, and corporate requests as needed
  • Assist with the preparation of Operations finance and business presentations, including MBR and QBR schedule preparation
  • Improve on data intensive tools with a focus on automating the close process; identify, communicate and recommend/implement corrective actions
Minimum Qualifications
· BS/BA Degree in Finance or Accounting or similar discipline from an accredited university
· Minimum 8 years of relevant experience or 6 years with an advanced degree, i.e. MS or MBA degree.
· Ability to work with management at all levels and lead major projects and initiatives
· Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
· Excellent analytical skills that lead to actionable growth opportunities
· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across the organization
· Significant experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)
· MBA and / or CPA preferred
· Experience with Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Financial Planning, CMR, SAP and E1 a plus
