The Global Web Content Specialist reports to the Global eMarketing Manager, Microbiology, and is based in Basingstoke, UK. The position supports the commercialization of the Microbiology product portfolio on our corporate website, www.thermofisher.com, through the creation and maintenance of microbiology marketing pages and assistance with associated e-marketing tasks.
The position serves a key role in supporting the microbiology marketing functions to ensure that the Microbiology web pages are up to date, attract and convert visitors, meet regulatory requirements and represent the best customer experience possible.
  • Publish content to the website (events, promotions, application marketing pages) using the content management system (Adobe CQ5) following guidelines and best practice for layout and customer engagement.
  • Follow best practice for metadata in order to support search optimization.
  • Ensure all web updates receive appropriate reviews and maintain records as agreed.
  • Follow best practice for creating and maintaining localized content.
  • Manage translation requests to ensure page content meets regional needs.
  • Work with other members of the eMarketing team to create and link forms for data capture.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of corporate digital systems, processes and governance standards.
  • Manage digital assets in various libraries including Digital Asset Management tool (DAM), iConnect and Brightcove video repository.
  • Extract analytics using the Site Catalyst tools.
  • Review and adjust web page structure to improve engagement and conversion.
  • Support the Global eMarketing Manager to action corporate requests relating to the website.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required associated with the promotion, maintenance and reporting of the Microbiology product portfolio on Thermofisher.com.
  • Take on new tasks and learn new skills as required.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience of working with web content management systems
  • Experience of creating web pages for readability and engagement
  • Experience of working with web analytics software
  • Excellent written English
  • Must be detail oriented - must have the ability to identify and resolve problems and complete tasks with attention to detail
  • Responsive customer focused team player
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a structured environment and follow processes
  • Professional demeanor to interact with global and corporate contacts
  • Proficient at learning new software and systems
  • Computer skills and experience of Microsoft Office and Outlook is essential, working knowledge of Photoshop advantageous.
  • As this is a global support role, some flexibility of working hours may occasionally be required.
The role may require occasional overseas travel.
