Job Description

The Planning Analyst role will support the timely and successful delivery of product within one of the assigned product categories; Safety, Lab Consumables or Life Science and Diagnostics. The role will combine data analysis and cross functional collaboration to drive customer product availability while maintaining favorable inventory days of supply against financial plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Lifecycle Management – Support portfolio expansion, new item setup, product conversion, and rationalization/discontinuation.
  • Implement and maintain demand sensing techniques & processes to ensure timely adjustments based on latest business intelligence (commercial/portfolio input) and actual demand trends.
  • Schedule and facilitate weekly/monthly reviews with internal customers on supply chain information and product supply status.
  • Support and facilitate collaboration with Portfolio Management and Purchasing departments, as well as key suppliers.
  • Develops and maintains key process indicator (KPI) metrics to track performance and contribution for their area. Including; On-Time Ship (OTS) Availability, Forecast Accuracy, & Days On Hand (DOH).
  • Performs daily exception management to drive favorable KPI performance.
  • Supports an environment that promotes positive communication and interaction between departments.
  • Exhibit a passion for improvement and professionalism.
  • Drive continuous improvement through PPI project participation and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience concentrating in distribution operations, inventory management, forecasting, supply chain or transportation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, logistics/supply chain or other relevant degree.
  • Excel, Access, SQL, DTS, SSIS, Data warehouse and Oracle familiarity.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a high volume, multi-location distribution environment.
  • APICS certification.
  • Sense of urgency and priority.
  • Exposure to advanced planning systems (Logility, Oracle, JDA, SAP).
  • Understanding of relationships between the planning systems and the effects on the inventory and service levels.
  • Ability to interact with all functional areas and all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently take ownership of initiatives and drive execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to apply in communications with business partners, the field, and corporate personnel.
  • Ability to travel domestically 5-10%.
