Job Introduction
The Electronics System Engineer will work in the Laboratory Equipment Division. The Electronics System Engineer will work through the matrix organization, interfacing with global cross functional team including R&D vendors. Candidate will work on variety of technologies associated with the product design, simulation, integration, and test of embedded systems and product integration. The candidate should have extensive experience designing embedded processor software for hardware control applications. She/He should also have successfully implemented product designs, systems, and constructed test and integration plans.
The candidate should expect to work with global cross functional team in translating product requirements to system performance and operational specifications and further drill down to hardware & firmware requirements, detailed designs, and test specifications. The relevant system design includes analog and digital design, sensor signal processing, command and control, wired and wireless communications, and user interfaces for laboratory equipments.
Major Responsibilities
  • Cascade product level requirements into system level functional requirements.
  • Identify suitable design architecture and help develop design specifications.
  • Work independently and with vendor resources to deliver:
    • Initiate and evaluate trade off studies, recommendations and design suggestions
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of new and existing designs and change if necessary. Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.
    • Develop and support initiatives to meet product quality targets
    • Support design review and approval by various certifying bodies including CE, UL, and other applicable
    • Provide the estimates, high level plan, risk and mitigation plan for business approval
    • Work with cross functional teams to execute the project.
    • Work with verification and validation engineers to ensure quality deliverables with thorough test plans and test execution.
  • Train, mentor and develop technical capability of team members
Knowledge and Education
  • Master / Bachelor’s Degree in related field, preferably Electronics Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in Electronics system design in the field of laboratory equipments
Work Experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Control system hardware/software implementation, integration and test
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with system/software/hardware requirements development and validation
  • Experience as an embedded designer. Experienced in C, C++, with a good understanding of various real-time OS, board support packages, API calls, foreground loops with interrupts, and how to architect an overall system.
  • Experience in design using microcontroller based digital and analog hardware designs
  • Experience in designs using wired and wireless communications
  • Experience in HMI based system/application designs using latest display and touch screen based solutions
  • Experience with laboratory equipments like Refrigerator, Incubator, Oven, etc…will be an added advantage
  • Excellent communication, Interpersonal, and technical skills
  • Experience in PC applications for requirement management , change management, and product lifecycle traceability
  • Work history should demonstrate strong problem solving, decision making, interpersonal, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational, task management and leadership skills are required in order to prioritize, coordinate projects, manage conflicting needs, and deal with multiple issues simultaneously
  • Proven ability to champion innovative opportunities in order to expand the organizations current and future business
  • Requires leadership abilities in managing problems to meet goals; ability to work on long-term assignments, ability to develop long-term technical strategies/plans to meet future business needs and growth opportunities
