Job Description

The Digital Advertising Manager will be responsible for planning; optimizing, implementing and analyzing paid digital marketing activities, including Display Exchange, AdWords, and Social Ads. The ideal candidate will possess a strong program management background and a strong background in Digital Marketing and pay-per-click (PPC) management. You will demonstrate excellent leadership skills that map to Thermo Fisher Scientific core competencies. You must be able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but you can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. You will also be excellent at driving results, being able to coordinate large, multi-functional projects on-time, anticipate bottlenecks, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You will be able to participate/influence other stakeholders and senior leaders across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for strategy, delivery and driving improvements for the program
  • Influence across different organizations and align teams to a common goal
  • Maintain the most up-to-date knowledge of best practices and strategies
  • Act as a strategic point of contact for Programmatic Audience strategy internally
  • Build upon and drive the growing re-marketing and retargeting efforts across multiple platforms (e.g. AdWords, Exchange, Criteo, etc.)
  • Conduct detailed needs assessment, define requirements and timeline
  • Create cohesive strategy and planning process that integrates key offline events, Omni-channel marketing imperatives, and online specific campaigns
  • Lead the budget development while monitoring key metrics and develop strategies to optimize performance
  • Execute segmentation strategies that include depth, duration, frequency, event interaction, channel, geo, device, network, creative and more
  • Lead and assist with creating proposals, estimates, contracts for all agency services engagements
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing teams on the strategy, design, and development of digital campaigns and assets that will increase revenue and improve lead generation conversion
  • Clearly communicate at all levels in the organization, including senior management
  • Collaborate with various teams to effectively drive all aspects of Digital Advertising
  • Demonstrated ability for being detail-oriented, self-motivated and driving follow-through
  • Ensure vendors are paid on time, budgets are on pace and KPIs are being met
  • Work closely with vendor, secure vendor pricing and ensure service requirements are clearly understood and all service delivery expectations are defined
  • Constantly strive to expand your understanding of the metrics that drive our business and growth aspirations
  • Proactively review & assess performance metrics and suggest recommendations to improve Digital Advertising program
  • Administer daily, weekly and monthly reporting on all paid search program data.
  • Establish KPI’s and set up web analytics dashboard reports
  • Working with the Digital Marketing Analytics team to determine the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and channels through KPI management and ROI marketing metrics

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years search engine and display marketing, experience managing large-scale accounts with six figure monthly budgets
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform well and remain organized under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work together as a team
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to take direction from superiors
  • Have strong analytical skills with ability to drive actions from large data sets
  • A consistent record of leading a program from conception through completion
  • Possess critical strategic thinking, readily identify obstacles and offer solutions
  • Able to assess and develop a plan, run with it, but willing to seek guidance as needed
  • Ability to write concise and clear guidance or summaries based on insights
  • Knowledge with visualization packages, including Tableau, Datorama
  • Knowledge with advertising research packages, including Nielsen, Comscore
  • Knowledge with DMP / DSP platforms including Adobe, BlueKai, Krux, Turn, The Trade Desk or MediaMath
  • Knowledge with tag management systems (e.g., Adobe DTM, Ensighten)
  • Strong Excel skills a plus (Pivots, Array Formulas, and Nested Formulas)
  • Strong data analysis skills including, but not limited to, tracking plans and requirements, documentation, data validation, variable maps, ROI analysis, and the ability to spot trends and drive ideas forward. Ability to identify opportunities to capture additional user behavior data
  • Experience working with a range of web analytics tools, such as: Google Analytics, Coremetrics, Adobe Site Catalyst, WebTrends or other web analytics software.
  • Familiarity with digital, mobile, & native tagging/tracking, targeting, measurement, ad blocking and creative ad formats
